Lithuania has adopted amendments to the Pharmaceutical Law
Lithuania has adopted amendments to the Pharmaceutical Law that will help patients receive the drugs they need in a faster, cheaper and more convenient way. The amendment implements the following changes:
- OTC (over-the-counter) medicinal products will be allowed to be sold outside of pharmacies, e.g. supermarkets, petrol stations, and other retail stores.
- Medicinal products prescribed via electronic prescriptions will be allowed to be sold online by pharmacies.
- Day-care centers will be allowed to establish in-house pharmacies in order to conveniently provide reimbursed drugs to the patients.
